GENRE : DESCRIPTIVE
Descriptive text [ teks deskriptif ] adalah; teks yang digunakan untuk mendiskripsikan atau menggambarkan tempat, orang atau benda tertentu.
Struktur teks descriptive :
  1. Identification [identifikasi] : pendahuluan tentang apa dan siapa yang akan dideskripsikan.
  2. Description [ deskripsi ] : berisi ciri – ciri khusus yang dimiliki benda, tempat, atau oarng yang dideskripsikan.
Ciri – ciri teks descriptive:
    • Menggunakan the simple present tense.
    • Menggunakan attribute verb, seperti : be [ am is are ]

Task 1
Read the following text.

The Island of God
                    Bali is known as” The Island of God” or “ The Last Paradise on Earth”. It is only 34.455 sq km in size. The Island is mountainous in its center with cluster of volcanoes of which the active Mount Agung is considered sacred.
                    It is surrounded by beautiful beaches. Among of them are Kuta and Sanur, the two famous tourist centers of Bali which are located on the eastern and western coast of southern part of the island.
                    Kuta is famous for its memorable sunsets with its simple, clean, and cheap accommodation mostly cater the budget conscious travelers.
                    Sanur is well known for its beautiful sunrise scenery with its black and white sandy beach. Sanur has the original village atmosphere. The beach is quiet. Thus, older visitors like it better than the younger.

HOSPITAL
                    In a modern hospital there are two separate entrances and the other is the main entrance. On the ground floor inside the main entrance, there are reception area, a waiting room, and also an office. We can also find numerous other departments. On the lower floor there are laundry and the kitchen. On another floor there maybe a maternity section for mothers and their babies.
                    On the upper floors are usually the rooms for other patients. There are small rooms for one to four patients and large ones called wards, in which as many as 40 or 50 patients can stay in rows of beds. On other floor there are operating theatres, radiology department, the laboratory, the pharmacy, blood bank, and the sterilizing department.
                    Professional health workers are needed to run a hospital effectively. And of course, good doctors play important roles in achieving the success of the hospital management.
